The following is a list of moving companies in the greater Ottawa area that offer a labour-only option. They will let you hire movers (without a truck) by the hour to assist you in loading or unloading rental trucks and PODS and in relocating items withing the same building or nearby.

It is very important to ensure that the laborers/movers are covered by the WSIB. Any company or contractor that you hire should be able to provide you with a clearance certificate from the WSIB. If a company hires it's movers/laborers as independent contractors, those contractors are required to have and provide WSIB Clearance Certificates. If a mover/labourer is not covered by WSIB, then the consumer is put at great financial risk. If an uninsured employee/contractor were to injure themselves while loading or unloading your truck or while performing other moving services for you, then you could be held liable for their injury.
